FAQ Do you use fragrance in your products?
The joyful aromas of Dabble & Dollop are a critical part of the sensory experience for children. For example, it was essential that our tangerine smelled like a tangerine was literally being peeled in front of you. Our strawberries, like you'd find in a summer field (and not a bag of candy). Our vanilla like freshly baked cake. Scent and memory are inextricably linked and we love that. But we also understand that synthetic fragrance in personal care products has come under an increasingly bright spotlight in recent years.
With 20+ years of experience in the cosmetics ingredients industry, we consciously selected natural oils and a blend of non-toxic, allergen-free nature identicals to drive our aromas. Why? With only essential oils we would have sacrificed the authenticity of our fresh aromas, and furthermore would have seen a degradation of color and product stability over time. Additionally, products overloaded with essential oils can contain more allergens, can be irritating, and aren’t always sustainably sourced. Therefore, we felt that selecting nature-identicals (at less than one half of one percent by volume) combined with natural sources was the better choice.
Our formulas meet current IFRA standards, are phthalate free, prop 65 compliant, vegan and non-GMO. Our aromatics do not contain any of the 186 banned or restricted compounds by RIFM (Research Institute of Fragrance Materials).
We conducted a 100 family study pre-launch and have many reviews by parents with children with sensitive skin. We have yet to see any abnormal skin responses, and in many cases, parents have said that Dabble & Dollop was the most gentle products they've ever used!Â
With all that said, we do understand that some children (and adults) have a hyper-sensitivity to fragrance. If that is the case, perhaps you might love our Dabble Ducky line of unscented products!
